Calling all patients with LASIK eye pain or other complications

it’s time to speak up.

What warnings do you believe people should be given about LASIK? And why?

If you have an opinion about this, it’s time to speak up. The FDA is asking for feedback and this is a unique opportunity to make your voice heard. Don’t miss the chance. The window is closing in just a few weeks.

Please submit your comments, no matter how brief.

And spread the word.

What this is all about

In April 2008, after years of pressure from patient activists, the FDA convened a public hearing as an opportunity for people to come and share their experiences and concerns. The stories shared by the public are available on YouTube.

In July 2022, as part of its follow-up, the FDA has at last proposed a revision to the labeling for LASIK including its risks and benefits.

Why you should make time for this

Those of us who were harmed deserve to be heard. Just because we may be relatively small in number does not mean we do not matter, and does not mean we cannot make a difference.

The LASIK industry has a powerful voice and has always used it effectively - including at that hearing back in 2008. They are doing so now. (See existing comments.)

We need to make our voices heard.

As a community, we can make a difference.
